Itinerary

This canyonlands itinerary showcases the geological diversity of the American Southwest, moving through landscapes shaped by wind, water, and time. Beginning in Las Vegas, the route quickly transitions into the red-rock country of southern Utah, where narrow canyons, towering monoliths, and desert plateaus define the scenery. Time in Zion and Bryce Canyon highlights the region’s dramatic contrasts, from river-carved corridors to spire-filled amphitheaters.

Continuing east into Arizona, the journey reveals some of the Southwest’s most iconic natural formations. Antelope Canyon’s flowing sandstone walls offer an intimate, ground-level perspective, while Horseshoe Bend and the Grand Canyon provide vast, panoramic views carved by the Colorado River over millions of years. Throughout the itinerary, guided walks provide insight into geology, ecology, and human history.

Balanced between activity and reflection, this journey offers both immersive exploration and moments to simply absorb the scale and beauty of the land. The result is a powerful introduction to one of North America’s most visually striking regions.

Day 1: Las Vegas

Arrive in Las Vegas and settle in. The evening is free to relax or explore the city.

Day 2: Las Vegas to Zion National Park

Depart Las Vegas and travel into southern Utah to Zion National Park. Enjoy an introductory hike along one of the park’s scenic trails, taking in views of sandstone cliffs, mesas, and the surrounding canyon landscape.

Day 3: Zion National Park

Spend the day exploring Zion’s iconic terrain. Weather and conditions permitting, hike through the famous Narrows, where sheer canyon walls rise above the river. Alternative trails offer elevated viewpoints and access to hanging gardens, plateaus, and sculpted rock formations.

Day 4: Zion National Park to Bryce Canyon to Page

Travel to Bryce Canyon National Park, home to thousands of colorful hoodoos clustered within natural amphitheaters. Walk along scenic viewpoints and trails before continuing to Page, near Lake Powell.

Day 5: Page to Grand Canyon National Park

Explore Antelope Canyon, where narrow passageways and shifting light create stunning patterns in the sandstone walls. Stop at Horseshoe Bend for views high above the Colorado River before continuing to the Grand Canyon National Park.

Day 6: Grand Canyon National Park

Spend the day exploring the Grand Canyon along the South Rim. Walk scenic trails, visit viewpoints, and learn about the canyon’s layered geology and long human history. Optional hikes descend below the rim, offering a closer look at ancient rock formations and desert flora.

Day 7: Grand Canyon National Park to Las Vegas

Begin the return journey to Las Vegas, stopping along historic stretches of Route 66 in northern Arizona. Arrive back in Las Vegas with time to relax or enjoy a final evening together.

Day 8: Las Vegas

Depart at your leisure, concluding your journey through the American Canyonlands.
